GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS

After traveling to Italy and falling in love with gelato, Ron and Denise Dean had a quest to find authentic artisan gelato back in Chicago. To their disappointment, there was not much to be found especially not how it is made back in Italy.That began their adventure of researching exactly how artisan gelato is made. After three years of research, training and testing of different Italian ingredients, Via Gelato & Cafe was opened.  Each pan of their gelato is hand crafted with the finest ingredients possible. It is fresh, creamy and exploding with flavor.
 

One of the biggest misconceptions about gelato is that it is full of fat when it is the exact opposite. Gelato is less than half the fat of American ice cream but with more favor.  They use hormone free milk and it is all natural and free additives or preservatives. Fresh fruits are always used and when available they are purchased from the local farmers market. You can taste the freshness in each bite as it is made everyday on site.  Via Gelato & Cafe has also carried the concept over to their food menu. Their menu is simple and fresh serving panini, salads, soups, crepes and award winning intelligensia coffee.  Everything is made from scratch, right down to the soup stocks.
